Big Thumbs Down to were U.S. Education is Headed New Hampshire

Education

Big Thumbs Down to were U.S. School Education is Headed New Hampshire, folks we need to take the time to look into where the Education of our kids is headed. The kids of our Great Country need to also have sports in the School which they are attending.

Thumbs Down

Learning about that the U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan made the stand to have Schools replacing their traditional textbooks with even more Digital Devices in the next few years. I just don't understand how think the Schools are able to afford making this change, when so many School Districts are making Schools cut their Sports Programs
and other programs, because they say that they can't afford spending the money for those programs.

Big Thumbs Down to were U.S. School Education is Headed New Hampshire, Sports program help to teach kids fair play, responsibility and how to work as a team. But how do those folks that are for the Digital Devices taking the place of textbooks propose that we humble Taxpayers to flip the bill for those mighty pricey Digital Devices any how?

Computer and Laptop

This here sure is yet another fine example of a bureaucracy out of touch with mainstream America. It sure does seem that those folks in Washington seem to think that us Taxpayers all have money trees in our back yards to pull money from. Plus this really make me wonder if this is the reason that Fall Mountain High School just lost their Football Program and just received some Digital Devices.

Take your children out of Government Schools.

Do whatever it takes to put them into a Private or Parochial School.

I'm not happy with what I'm seeing in our local schools...and the Cedaredge, Colorado schools are the tops in the county. Kids only have to take gym class if they don't participate in at least two outside sports a year. Even then gym is only required for one year out of the four years of high school. I wish the kids could learn more about American History. More technology is taught than learning American history. I guess the school officials figure if the kids can use technology, they can look up history online. I'm not liking this train of thought. If the kids don't know about history, how are they going to know how to research it.

I do like the fact that my daughter is learning technology, but I would also like to see some more traditional classes being taught. Also the teachers are so lax these days. I guess we've tied their hands, because teachers are so afraid to say or do anything to our kids...when it comes to discipline. I don't see the same respect today, that I had for my teachers. Teachers are more friends.

Dale,  I agree with you.  Keep the programs like sports and music and save the digital devices for college days.  Mind boggling!

Dale,

I agree with you we need to spend more money on education people let us not forget this is the future of our nation. We need to keep our nation fit and strong both mind and body.

Dale,

That is a sad situation indeed. Children I think need to use and learn from textbooks and not some digital device. Sports programs all across the country are very important and many times it is the difference between a young person being a productive contributing person or being in trouble and maybe even jail.

Dale: Many changes are also taking place in our area. If we were raising youngsters today they would be attending private school.

Dale,

There is no provision in the Constitution for the DOE (either one). It needs to go away (both of them). :)
